Port Vendres, adjacent to Collioure, is a natural deep water harbour 1st used by the Greeks in 8BC, & remains a major import point for fruit: you will see freighters from around the world in the harbour. The Garden Apartment sits two streets above the harbour, where you can find a range of restaurants, cafes and local shops. If you like seafood you have arrived in heaven! The nearest beaches are 7-10 mins walk and there are a range of other beaches a short bus or car ride along the coast.

The Garden Apartment is a comfortable, well-equipped family home for our guests, situated in the historic old town, with great views around the harbour and mountains and one of the largest gardens in the area. It is on the top floor of a traditional French Catalonian 'bourgeois' house and retains many original features of a rustic family home. The kitchen, dining and lounge area is large and well-equipped. We have two patios, terraced areas, trees, vines and the obligatory hammock. We love to cook so there is a very well stocked kitchen: you can pick up fresh seafood, delicious local wines, and the freshest vegetables, use our outdoor BBQ and dine on the terrace as the sun sets over the mountains and sea. We have a huge collection of novels and children's books plus some beach equipment. We recommend bringing/purchasing snorkelling gear and beach shoes. *Weekly rentals in high season cost £750 for entire apartment and garden plus a cleaning fee and refundable deposit. This fee has not increased in 10 years!
This year, for the first time, we also offer 1-3 nightly rentals & B&B for individual rooms or entire apartment which start at £36 per night per guest. Please contact us for details.

Port Vendres is full of steps - this, and the sunshine and fresh food, is why the elderly people in town look so healthy! The Garden Apartment sits atop a steep terraced garden and there are many steps from the garden gate to the kitchen door. Not suitable for people with limited mobility or baby buggies.

The Saturday morning farmer's market is not to be missed: oysters, mushrooms, mountain cheeses and lavender honey, farm eggs, assortment of fine fresh and cured meats, and so much freshly grown produce from the market gardens and mountain farms.
