ASHA is a 42-acre agriturismo and retreat campus in the hills of southern Tuscany, a few minutes by car from the village of Castell'Azzara. The land has been developed over many years into a working campus that hosts retreats, facilitator trainings and independent guests throughout the season.
The property includes multiple stone buildings and cottages spread across the land, a swimming pool, wide terraces with valley views, woodland paths, open fields and a shared outdoor kitchen. The Main House — known as The Ark — is the heart of the campus and houses the main communal living areas. WiFi is available throughout The Ark and surrounding areas.
Throughout the season, private wellbeing sessions are available on-site and can be booked at reception on arrival. Sessions include breathwork, integrative bodywork and craniosacral therapy, Medical Qi Gong, sound healing, Reiki and naturopathic readings — all offered by resident practitioners at an additional charge.
Plant-based meals are available at an additional cost during retreat and training periods on the land. In 2026 these run: 10–30 May, 26 Jul–1 Aug, 16 Aug–26 Sep, and 27 Sep–17 Oct. Outside of these periods, guests self-cater using the outdoor kitchen.
ASHA was founded with community at its heart — not as a hotel, and not as a traditional retreat centre. The intention has always been to create a place where people can live alongside one another, share a landscape, and find their own rhythm within it. That spirit runs through everything here.

ASHA is located on a rural road in southern Tuscany, 5–10 minutes by car from the village of Castell'Azzara. The campus is immersed in nature. Expect forest sounds, birdsong, insects during the warmer months, and genuinely dark nights. This is part of the experience, and most guests find it one of the most valued aspects of a stay here.
WiFi is available in The Ark (Main House) and surrounding communal areas. The connection is generally stable but may be slower than city fibre. It is suitable for remote work and video calls in most cases.
The outdoor kitchen, terraces and communal spaces are shared. Guests are asked to clean up after themselves, leave shared spaces as they found them, and observe quiet hours — particularly in the evenings and early mornings. ASHA is not suitable for parties, loud gatherings or large celebrations.
Room allocation may vary depending on the retreat calendar and occupancy on the land. Your room will always be of the same standard, bathroom arrangement and bed configuration as the one you booked — but may be in a different cottage. ASHA's intention is to house independent guests together where possible, creating a natural sense of community within the wider campus.
A car is strongly recommended. The campus is rural and not served by regular public transport. The nearest village is a short drive away, and most points of interest in the region require independent transport. Parking on-site is free.
Heating is available during cooler months. As a rural stone property, temperatures can vary significantly between seasons. Summer evenings can be cool despite the heat of the day — a light layer is worth packing even in August.
