Welcome to 21 Spyglass, our beautiful 4 bed, 3 bath villa perched on the picturesque forest hillside above and overlooking Apple Bay at the West End of Tortola. We are sure you will love this home, with its cool breezes, large pool and ample entertaining space. For your added comfort all bedrooms are air conditioned.

The villa has been lovingly restored and refurbished over the past 6 months, is furnished to a very high standard with a newly fitted artisan built kitchen complete with stainless steel appliances and equipped to meet the needs of even the most discerning chef.

There is an emphasis on recycling and providing income and employment here in BVI. As such, there has been extensive use of recycled mahogany for the windows, doors and closets. The beautiful hand-made pottery sconces are produced here at a small pottery in Josiahs Bay, the three stone showers were crafted by local stonemasons and the stunning kitchen was hand built right here by Caribbean artisans.

In a western location, just a few minutes’ drive to Long Bay, Smugglers Cove or any of the pristine deserted beaches on the North shore, you will enjoy a birds eye view of nearby Jost Van Dyke and a host of our outer islands. It’s just a five minute drive to the fabulous North Shore surf and a short surf or boogie board paddle will take you out on the waves.

Enjoy some of the great restaurants that are nearby such as Sugar Mill, Bananakeet, Tropical Fusion, Da Coalpot, or create a culinary delight in the very well equipped kitchen then dine on the large covered patio overlooking the ocean. Alternatively, stay 'at home' and have someone else do the cooking! There are several freelance chefs on the island who will cater to your specific taste.

This villa is a new addition to the Chapman group of properties and joins Surfside Gardens and Harbour Heights. Completely renovated and refurbished in 2019, this property, situated in the most desirable West End location, is just minutes away from the beckoning blue ocean.

21 Spyglass sleeps at least eight people comfortably. Six sleep in the main house where there is a master king bedroom which is en suite and two twin bedded bedrooms that share a bathroom. Downstairs, with its own entrance, there is a secondking bedroom en suite. Each of the four bedrooms has its own dedicated air-conditioning unit.

A breath-taking 360 degree panoramic view of both the ocean and wonderful lush forest hillside vegetation surrounding the property make this villa a must stay place for those seeking peace and tranquility, which will certainly immerse you in tropical mood.

A variety of tropical trees including palms, banana, lime, papaya etc are scattered throughout the garden along with flowers such as Hibiscus and Bougainvillea. Your privacy is ensured as you soak up the Caribbean sun and enjoy the intimate luxuries of a villa designed to put you at peace with the world.

Views maybe enjoyed from the living room balcony, the lanai outside the kitchen or the extensive swimming pool deck, whether you are dinning or just lounging around.

Within easy driving distance are the following amenities: many beaches, restaurants, supermarkets, dive shops, sailing schools, charter boat companies, boutique shops, beauty spas, zip-lining, and hiking.

We provide a personal service at all times both before and during your stay. We welcome your questions and can help with travel as well as things to do and places to go whilst you are in Tortola. Soon after your arrival we will meet you at a convenient place, usually the West End Ferry dock to escort you to the villa.

21 Spyglass is in a lovely villa that allows one to arrive and never leave if one so chooses, yet it is minutes to the North Shore beaches and West End restaurants and communities.

We recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get the most out of being on the island and Jerry’s car rental are who we recommend. They will leave the car where you arrive, ferry or airport and you can leave it at the ferry dock, airport or other location of your choice when you leave.

The house is well equipped and has ample beach towels, beach chairs, cooler and ice blocks, iron and ironing board, hairdryer etc. There is also a back-up generator and hi speed internet and a blue tooth Bose speaker.

Our guests choose how much interaction they want with us and we can be at the villa in 25 minutes if needed.

The Spyglass neighbourhood comprises for the most part owner-occupied bespoke and individually designed homes, each on up to one acre of land which guarantees a secluded retreat even though you are only a five minute drive away from the beach.

The Chapman family, which is Mark (husband), Heather (wife), Tom, Ben and Joe (3 sons) have four rental properties in Tortola, all of which come under the umbrella of Chapman Property Group. One is called Surfside Garden - a dream from inception to the day our first guests arrived in late 2014. Every facet of the villa was hand-picked, uniquely designed or tailor-made by one of the family members, from the chimney-breast, to the chandeliers, to the indoor/outdoor stone spa bathroom, to the stone and tiled patios, to the panoramic windows, to the french doors, to the gourmet kitchen and even down to the spectacular surrounding lush vegetation and fruit trees. We collected stones, rocks and boulders from the property as we built it and fashioned them into pillars, walls, pathways, and both bathrooms are entirely constructed of stone, making for the most natural environment imaginable. For the four years preceding the build we nurtured a vast array of fruit trees, palms and shrubs, ready for the day in 2014 when we would landscape the property. We designed the villa for Caribbean living with the ocean a few meters from the front door and panoramic windows and french doors to brighten and lighten the indoor features. The second property is called Harbour Heights, which was refurbished during the summer of 2016, with tender loving care and an eye for immaculate detail by Heather. This property came to the market during October 2016. Harbour Heights was virtually destroyed one year later by Hurricane Irma. As sad as that was, it gave us the opportunity to rebuild and refurbish again, this time adding a new roof, windows and doors, making it stronger than before whilst keeping the same style. The third property is called 21 Spyglass and was purchased after Hurricane Irma in 2017. The villa has been completely renovated with the finest materials including mahogany windows and doors and stone built showers. In July 2019 we purchased another 'Irma casualty', just a few doors away from 21Spyglass. This villa had been virtually destroyed by Irma and had stood without a roof, windows or doors, completely open to the elements for almost 3 years! We are now proud to say it was rebuilt and finished in record time by CPG (BVI) Ltd despite Covid lockdowns and curfews. 'New House' has now been reborn as 'Twin Oceans' 4 bed, 4 bath with pool standing majestically on the ridge of Spyglass Hill, with far reaching views as far as St John on one side and to Jost Van Dyke on the other. Again, an emphasis has been placed on recycle and reuse with extensive use of repurposed mahogany, stone and tile.
