The Annex is Self Contained. It has two bedrooms and sleeps four. Set in rolling hills in the beautiful Wye Valley with stunning views. A large meadow, play area, heated indoor pool ( April-Sept) & outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub, and great pub just five minutes walk away make it a fabulous rural retreat!

May Hill View S/C Annex is just a five-minute drive from the picturesque market town of Ross on Wye and five minutes from M50 junction 3. There is a vast array of things to do on your doorstep. Historical Hereford, Gloucester and Worcester with their famous cathedrals. The castles of Goodrich, Raglan, Chepstow and Eastnor. Tintern Abbey and various National Trust and English Heritage sites all near.

The ancient Forest of Dean is a magnet for horse riding, walkers and cyclists and for golfers there are two fabulous courses literally a two-minute drive away. Opportunities for lake and river fishing are just nearby. Canoeing and cruising on the nearby River Wye are also very popular.

Symonds Yat Rock, May Hill, the Malvern Hills, the Black Hills and Brecon Beacons are just a short drive away.

The Annex is approx 30 metres away from the main house. It is private and has its own entrance. Cosy and warm (electric blankets too!) with all the usual amenities. The kitchen area has an undercounter fridge with small freezer compartment, a two ring hob, a kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, a toaster and a microwave which is also an oven. All utilities are included in the price, also essentials such as beverages, milk, cereals, condiments, cooking oil, washing up liquid. A Welcome cake on arrival! There is storage and cleaning for bikes and any outdoor kit. Washing machine and drying facilities are available. Cot/cot side and high chair on request. There is tarmac private off-road parking for two cars directly in front of the Annex. Extra cars are able to park in the Layby opposite the house. There are sensor lights and CCTV.

We offer the use of a fabulous heated (27 - 28 degrees ) indoor pool from the beginning of the Easter hols to the end of September with Bluetooth music system and great countryside views. Also a lovely Jacuzzi hot tub which is available all year round for sole guest use to relax in and do a little star gazing!

The Annex has a lovely open garden area with a large meadow and orchard. There is a children's play area with trampoline. Outside the pool house there is a patio BBQ area with table and chairs and views of May Hill.

You are welcome to use the heated indoor pool (April- Sept) and outdoor Jacuzzi hot tub (available year round)

The Pool House is open at at 09.00 and locked at 19.30. The use of the hot tub is available until 22.00. These will be maintained daily. Very occasionally it will be necessary to close the Facilities for a short time to do more thorough maintenance and cleaning. If this should be necessary during your stay, Mary will make every effort to minimise disruption and will keep you informed. Thank you for your understanding

If you would like friends and family to visit you at the property whilst you are staying. Please could you let Mary know. Also, if they would then like to use the Facilities for the day, they will need to pay £10 per person in advance and sign a Disclaimer Form. Many thanks.

The Annex can only accommodate 4 people. Please do not arrive with additional people as I am afraid they will not be able to stay.

There is parking available for two cars on the driveway in front of the Annex. Please be aware that the private house next door shares this driveway. Extra cars can be parked in the lay-by opposite the house. Automatic lighting will come on. CCTV in operation.

There is a Locksafe to collect and return the Annex keys, should Mary not be there to greet you on arrival.

There is a pink Information Folder re the Annex and Facilities. Also, a blue butterfly box which has leaflets/information of local attractions, etc and various maps.

There is a field at the end of the property. Very welcome to use it. We occasionally have the Herefordshire cows from next door, who come to graze. Please do not enter the field when they are there and the gate must remain closed at all times. Thank you.

Check - In is from 16.00 onwards and Check - Out is by 11.00. Later Check Outs can sometimes be arranged too. Please ask.

Due to the nature of the external stone staircase to the Annex, regrettably it may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.

Please do not put wet swimming costumes and towels over the ceramic wall heaters in the Annex. They are a potential FIRE risk. Thank you.

Ross-on-Wye is a 5 minute drive away and has a Morrisons, Sainsburys and Aldi supermarkets as well as selection of small independent shops. A variety of restaurants and Fast Food outlets. Some of these will deliver to May Hill View. Should you wish to shop ahead and have items delivered, we are happy to put them in the fridge ready for your arrival. Sainsburys and Tesco currently deliver in this area.

If you need anything for that special occasion, we are able to provide chocolates, Champagne, flowers, etc

During the peak season times of July, August and all the school holidays, there are preset minimum nights stay.

Over the Christmas and New Year holiday period and school holidays the rate for the Annex is higher. This is preset on the Airbnb site and the rate will show when you make an enquiry for this period.

The swimming pool is open and heated (27-28 degrees) from the Easter holidays until the end of September. It is 9 metres long, 3.55m wide and is 1.35m deep for the whole length. There is a Bluetooth music system for your favourite songs! We kindly request that you do not eat or drink in the Pool House. Excessive alcohol use whilst using the Facilities is unsafe and use will have to be withdrawn. Children must be supervised at all times please. No snorkels or flippers in the pool.

The Annex, Facilities, parking of your cars and Play Area are used at your at your own risk and liability ( a Disclaimer Form will need to be signed ) We supply towels for the Annex, but please bring your own towels and flip flops if you would like to use the facilities.

If you would like friends and family to visit you during your stay at the Annex please could you let Mary know. If they would like to use the Facilities too, there will be a charge of £10 per person for the day. A Disclaimer Form will need to be signed in advance. Many thanks.

There is a reliable WiFi connection in the Annex.

We do a supply a torch, but it might be an idea to bring an extra one for the 3 minute walk back from the local pub The Moody Cow. The pub is closed on Sunday evening and all day Monday and Tuesday.

There is a lovely pub, the Moody Cow, which recently appeared in the Guardian newspaper as one of the top 50 places to have Sunday lunch is a five-minute walk up the road. It is advisable to book ahead as gets very busy at the weekend especially.

Hello, I am Sonya, married to Remy and have two treasures! Anthony and Frieda. I retired as a Practice Nurse a couple of years ago and have since enjoyed hosting guests at the Annex. The Annex and Facilities are separated from the adjoining private house by a fence/ gate and shrubs, which provides privacy. The main house is a private residence, please could we ask that this is respected. Mary will greet guests on arrival and show them over to the Annex and the workings of the Facilities. Mary will, of course, be on hand should there be any queries during your stay and will also need pop over daily to maintain the cleanliness of the Facilities during your stay too.
