This is one of 4 purpose-built self-catering apartments. Located opposite a beautiful cinnamon field, where you can often see tropical birds and monkeys, it's just a 15minute walk or a short scooter ride from the Narigama end of Hikkaduwa beach.

This apartment is upstairs and has a balcony with lounging day-bed which overlooks the garden,

Large double bedroom with super-king sized bed, mosquito net and fan, desk and wardrobe..large windows look out onto the jungle behind.

Spacious modern semi-open air en-suite bathroom, with hot water shower and bath tub, you can watch the stars and fireflies at night while you soak, and shower in the sunshine!

Private kitchen with breakfast bar, gas/electric hob, fridge-freezer, and cooking equipment.
*please note* Due to the ongoing situation with gas shortages in Sri Lanka, it's often hard to replace gas bottles, please be patient with us at this time as we will always do our best to source replacements for you.

The garden is shared with the other guests and is a great, shady place to relax-it has a Chill out area with a tables and seating, and the shared plunge pool in tha back garden.

There is space to park scooters within the gated area, and there is also room to park a small car outside the property.

Please note that these apartments are designed for 2 adults sharing rather than families. For that reason amongst others, we only consider taking children and infants in certain circumstances where we think it can work. Please consult with us before booking if you're travelling with a child, thank you.

Hikkaduwa is known for its beach and the various water based activities-from late October until March, it becomes a popular surf destination with something for each level-from beginner to advanced. (Ask if you would like lessons or help with board hire!) during this time you can dive, snorkel and wake board. There is a beautiful lagoon nearby, with small islands and a temple, and we are in a good position to visit Galle and its historic fort. Local handicrafts, leatherwork, and moonstones along with other gems can be bought here. If you want any advice on an itinerary we can easily advise you on how to make the most of your stay!

We love to travel, and built Banana Leaf Apartments here in 2014 as a place we could welcome guests and help them have the kind of holiday we love! We enjoy being hosts, and have met some really great people through Air bnb, it's always interesting to see who's going to arrive next! We aim to make our guests stay as comfortable as possible-you'll often find us cooking and sharing it around- and show you the more local, undiscovered side of Sri Lanka. From surf lessons to transport to adventures in the jungle, we are here to help!

We are friendly sociable people and one of the things we love about Air bnb is meeting people from all over the world-we are happy to spend time with you (we often share meals etc!) and we also understand that you need your own space and privacy.
