In the Maya language, Akumal means place of the turtle. That is because many sea turtles are full-time residents of Akumal Bay. That makes seeing turtles out in the bay very possible when you're with an experienced guide like me. I'll meet you near the beach and provide you with life jacket and snorkeling gear. I will then take you through an exclusive entrance onto the beach of Akumal Bay. At the beach, I'll give you instructions on how to use your equipment, where we'll be swimming, what marine life you can expect to see, how to be mindful and respectful of the marine life and environment, and most importantly, how to be safe in the water. Once we enter the water, we'll take a brief pause to make sure everyone is comfortable in the water and with their equipment. Then, I'll guide you around the circuit and show you all of the marine life that Akumal Bay has to offer. You can see sea turtles, stingrays, barracudas, reef squid, coral reef and many other tropical fish. After we've had fun in the water, we'll head back to shore and I'll take your equipment. If you need any help with the rest of your day, I'll be there to assist you. Other things to note You do not need to be a strong swimmer to participate in my tour but you should at least be comfortable in the water. The bay can be closed on occasion due to adverse weather conditions.

En nuestro lugar de paz “Temazcal y Masajes Pixan” somos un equipo de personas mostrando nuestra cultura, todos son bienvenidos a nuestro espacio Con el apoyo de nuestros compañeros les damos la bienvenida y los llevamos a un lugar de descanso (palapa) y explicamos el proceso del Temazcal, y como lo hacían nuestros antepasados. Calentamos las piedras con leña, Usamos copal e incienso, medicina para el equilibrio de la energía que limpia antes de entrar al Temazcal desde ese momento experimentas una conexión espiritual. Después, entramos al Temazcal y nos sentamos alrededor del ombligo. Luego se emergen las piedras de origen volcánico previamente calentadas, que emiten vapor cuando rociamos agua con infusiones de plantas sanadoras encima de las abuelas piedras. El lugar se vuelve muy cálido mientras, a través de cantos y rezos, los participantes llegan a un contacto consigo mismos y aprenderemos la importancia de la palabra, el silencio y la fuerza de los cantos. Se realizan 4 puertas (4 tiempos) dentro del ritual, en los cuales entre cada uno se abrirán las puertas para bajar la temperatura y el ingreso de nuevas abuelas piedras. Al terminar salimos y nos duchamos en el jardín con una regadera rustica, el agua purifica nuestro cuerpo. This magical experience starts in our meeting spot in our town Chemuyil, where we will get ready for our adventure. My town is located: -20-25 mins approx. from Tulum (downtown) -35-40 mins approx. from Playa del Carmen (downtown) -2 hrs. approx. from Cancun (downtown) If you don’t have a car, or don’t know how to get to this place, please feel free to contact me to get more recommendations on transportation you can use. This is a LOCAL EXPERIENCE. You will get to know, not only these cenotes that have seen us grow up, but places with a lot of meaning to us. We will ride on our bicycles through our hometown making our way to three different cenotes around our community. Physical wear with the bicycles is minimum. We spend most of the time in the water. Riding the bicycles will be, 20-25 mins(total). Distance from cenote to cenote is 5-10 mins. If you are looking for a fancy activity, something fast, big company tours, this is DEFINITELY NOT FOR YOU. Instead, if you want to experience our hometown, our cenotes, having adventures, talk to us, share stories and making new friends while getting to know about our project, then you have found the perfect experience for you. After a journey, on a ground transportation, of more than 8km in the middle of the jungle, we will immerse ourselves in a cave and underground river system for a guided exploration, crossing the most surreal rock formations. Helmets well screwed on the head, and water shoes on, we will let our lights pierce the darkness and silence to make way for a world as ancient as magical. During the first part of the visit, which is mainly conducted walking and does not require any specific swimming level, you will understand the deep relationships that link the Mayan civilization and the jungle to the majestic Cenotes. In the last part, we will have the opportunity to swim, relax and snorkel in a fantastic and out of this world natural pool.   We will recover from our emotions and share around a meal composed of local specialties cooked in the jungle on a fire pit. During the tour, we will tell you about the history of the place and its importance to the sustainability of Mexico City. Elaboramos quesillo y queso fresco todos los días. Mi hijo Baldo compartirá su conocimiento acerca del mezcal, una cata en la cual podrás tomar degustar tanto como gustes, además de agua fresca, refrescos y jugos. Botanas? Claro que si, pero lo tienes que hacer al estilo oaxaqueño, lo que significa gusanos, chicatanas y chapulines. ¿Has escuchado algo sobre el metate y como se hacen las tortillas a mano? además de tortillas elaboraremos tetelas, memelas y tlayudas. Haremos diferentes salsas utilizando ingredientes de la temporada todo cocinado sobre comal, leña y brasas al carbón. El mole es un emblema de la cocina oaxaqueña y cocinaremos uno de los 7 moles utilizando el metate. No te puedes ir sin probar el mole negro, chocolate de agua, café de olla, nieves y un rico pastel. Todos participaran en los procesos, cortando, moliendo, elaborando salsas y por supuesto comiendo, recuerda cuando visitas una casa en Oaxaca tienes que venir con el estomago vacío. During this experience, you will learn to cook the famous "tacos al pastor" with my dad, a professional instructor and culinary artist, who will share his tips and recipes with you. We'll meet at the local market to buy ingredients and learn more about Mexican spices and food. Then we'll return to my family home, where you will learn how to marinate the meat for the tacos. You will prepare red salsa, green salsa, and guacamole, and make your own tortillas on the traditional Mexican "Comal"—a smooth, flat griddle. At the end, we'll put everything together to make the tacos, sit and enjoy what you have prepared, and learn a little more about Mexican gastronomy. Your tour commences at the ferry pier in Cozumel downtown. On the way to the reef you will be explained how to enjoy more your visit, the basics of snorkeling, what to do and what not to do during the tour. We make a short stop at the Paradise Beach pier to board passengers, then will sail to the world famous Palancar reef for a 45 minute guided snorkeling adventure. After snorkeling, we will sail to the calm waters of the sandbar at El Cielo, a natural wonder where the sea is cobalt blue, crystalline and shallow with the tropical jungle as a background, the ocean bottom is all powder sand; you can relax and enjoy this unspoiled location for about 45 minutes. The next stop is at the private beach to enjoy included non motorized aquatic toys such as ocean trampoline, floats, kayaks, etc. lunch on the beach based on one delicious cheeseburger per person made out of imported beef and a bag of potato chips; unlimitednsodas, purified water, margaritas, and draft beer are included too. We spend one hour at the beach to relax, have lunch and enjoy the aqua park, we will sail back to the departure pier, the boat's crew will serve your drinks and invite you to dance classic beach tunes.
