Please take a look at our guidebook for details of local restaurants and eateries we recommend.
We own a miniature Dachshund (very small). Her name is Miss Saveloy Sausage or Savvy for short. She is very quiet, friendly and adores children but is never allowed in the suite (she can't get up the stairs - they are too big)!
There is a superb supermarket 2 minutes walk away that stocks a wide variety of local and specialist produce and has an excellent cheese counter, deli section and off licence.
Kendal's bustling high street is one minute's walk away where you'll find plenty of shops, a library, the post office and several banks. There's a Costa on the main high street and Caffe Nero is in the marketplace.
It's worth exploring Kendal's historic yards where you'll find many of our more individual retailers and businesses.
The market town of Kendal lies just outside the spectacular Lake District National Park, has plenty of pubs, cafés, takeaways and restaurants, 2 museums, a leisure centre with swimming pool, golf course, the Abbot Hall Art Gallery and the Brewery Arts Centre with a theatre, cinemas, art galleries, bars and a regular live music programme (visit the breweryarts website). There are plenty of places to explore with lovely parks (Kendal Castle, Serpentine Woods and Noble's Rest) and pleasant walks along the river Kent right on our doorstep. There is a street market every Wednesday and Saturday and a farmer's market once a month.
