Situated in the old Gumeracha apple sheds (community coldstore), its a great place to visit. Try a gin flight, lemoncillo and their other options (non alcoholic beverages also). Unico Zelo wines are made from exciting new grape varieties that are grown in vineyards with low water usage and sustainable practices in mind.

A real local, Glen Ewin name has long been associated with Adelaide Hills orchards. The family has kept its old Fig tree orchards and if you're lucky they haven't sold out of their famous Fig Gin. A lovely little spot to enjoy breakfast on the deck by the lake a light meal, or an afternoon nibble. This location is often sought for events and weddings.

Did you know that this area of the Adelaide Hills used to grow hops commercially? The Lobethal bierhaus has revived the tradition of making beer/bier. It makes a number of styles and you can order a tasting tray to try them all! They open from Thursday - Sunday. They have a bar snacks menu but if you're going for a meal, be aware the weekends can get busy - bookings are recommended.

Food scene

Newman's Nursery is home to The Topiary Cafe, voted top of the list as of Adelaide's favourite eateries. http://www.thetopiarycafe.com.au You can find their current menu here: https://www.topiary-dining.com As a local fresh produce provider, we are honoured to be associated with these inspiring young chefs who welcome the challenge of making the best of what is local and seasonal. They are friendly, service is great and happy to accomodate any dietary requirements. Without bias I would highly recommend a visit to this local cafe restaurant - it has won so many foodie accolades - the latest being a Hat in the 2020 Australian Good Food Guide - yet it is affordable and consistently good for breakfast, brunch, morning tea, high tea and for special occasions a real treat. I also love to grab a coffee (really good coffee) and take a stroll through the beautiful nursery grounds...a gardeners delight. All of this, and just 5 minutes down the road from Millbrook Valley Farm.

The home of two generations of iconic Australian Artists - Hans Heysen and his daughter Nora Heysen. If you love art and history this is a must see. I love to take a wander through these grounds whenever I head to this part of the hills and reflect upon the lives of this famous family. Located just a few minutes from Hahndorf's Main Street - tourist shopping central. From 1912, this 36-acre (expanding to 132-acre) country property with its towering trees was home to iconic landscape painter and early conservationist Sir Hans Heysen, his wife Sallie and family of eight – including Nora, who became a famous artist in her own right. Many of their great works are displayed in the original furnished home which played regular host to Royal visitors and celebrities from film, ballet and opera – such was the fame of this artist who captured the light, texture and personality of the Australian landscape like no other. Guided tours are offered of the house, the delightful original garden planted by Hans himself – and his completely intact studio. Here visitors can step back in time to see one of his works taking shape, surrounded by his materials, sketches and other artefacts – just as if the artist had stepped out for a break. The walking trails around the property are free to wander and at various times during the year, the grounds have been used to house exhibitions of their own. The trees...magnificent landscape.
