Shop locally! These are a few of my favorite spots to hit up when I want to treat someone (or myself) to some goodies.
Less than two blocks away, Urban Matter has a lovely assortment of gifts, home goods, textiles, plants and furniture. The bright, contemporary interior inspires and delights - and the owners are simply wonderful!

Bowood Farms is bright, airy and lush to death. I love their collection of plants, of course - but they also carry a gorgeous selection of books, gifts, textiles, crystals - so many pretty things to look at and take home. Plus, they have shop cats. I love a good shop cat.

Flowers and Weeds is dangerously close to our house, but fortunately it's super affordable. The staff is friendly and passionate about their work. Plants are top-of-mind at this shop, but plenty of knick-knacks (planters, crystals, trinkets, jewelry) await within.

Tick Tock Tavern is a low-key, inviting watering hole with a comfortable patio and plenty of seats indoors. The bar is stocked with the best of local brews, and the walls are adorned with kitschy-but-comforting owl-themed decor. It's a St. Louis staple. Cash only, but an ATM is inside.

Don't let the name fool you - this funky, gritty dive bar has tons of character and serves AMAZING korean bar food and soju! Seriously, tuck away your expectations because you'll be slurping jell-o shots and gnawing on their addictive wings in no time.

You don't have to be a football fan to have a great time, but you'll probably want to become one (at least, that's my story). Awesome staff, fun clientele and it's right next door to The Dam, where you can score delicious burgers and snacks.

You don't have to be a football fan to have a great time, but you'll probably want to become one (at least, that's my story). Awesome staff, fun clientele and it's right next door to The Dam, where you can score delicious burgers and snacks.
Food scene
Whether or not you stick to a plant-based diet, Sweet Art will satisfy your cravings. It's just that good. So much love and soul goes into the recipes - it's comfort food, it's mostly vegan - and it's sooo delicious.
