Some good things in South Park everyone loves
Food scene
This place was recently featured on Food Network’s Restaurant: Impossible! Really new and fresh Italian cuisine and pizzas. What a comeback they have made!! The back deck has amazing views when the weather allows. This place is a favorite of the locals. There is also a sister restaurant nearby in town called the Soup Pot which is great for lunch salads and tasty soups. Don’t miss Millonzis!

The nicest restaurant in town. Right in the middle of the action on front street.

Great little bar for lunch. A little more “bar” scene after 5pm. We love their pizzas and burgers. South Park mural really makes you feel like you’re in South Park! On the way to Breck…. Drive to Alma to check out America’s highest bar!!

A newer pizza joint in Hartsel. About 20 mins from Fairplay. Be sure to watch for all the buffalos you will see between Fairplay and there. Best pizza in South Park. Very clean. Friendly locals serving it up! Zuccaros is in the geographic center of Colorado. And also in the winter the windiest place on Earth (according to me) and I think the sign that said “welcome to the center of Colorado” actually blew over a few winters back. Lol!

This is a great family museum. Learn all about the gold rush here in Fairplay. Be ready to take lots of pics. Most people leave saying “wow I had no idea all that was in there!” Really great gift shop there as well. Hope you aren’t scared of ghosts. Been featured on many shows.

Hiking
If you are the adventurous type, a trek up can get you here in 5 hours! Mt Sherman is a fourteener in our backyard. County Road 18 takes you all the way to the trailhead. We have family from Tx that climbs with is every year. (You will need to be acclimated and in good shape to even attempt this one). On one side from the top you can see Fairplay and Leadville standing in the same spot. The 2 towns are almost 2 hours apart by road. Most likely you will also see these crazy huge white Mountian goats along the popular trek up.
