State Ban on Single-Use Plastic Bags

State ban on single-use plastic bags Washingtonians are very environmentally conscious. Plastics are a severe danger to marine life, birds and mammals. The state has banned single-use plastic bags at stores, restaurants and other retail locations. Some retailers will offer recyclable paper bags, but are permitted to charge 8¢ per bag to recover the costs of providing them. Consumers are encouraged to bring their own reusable bags. Thank you for helping to protect our environment and precious wildlife.
