The Parc de la Rivière-des-Mille-Îles is a non-profit organization with the mission of protecting, conserving and showcasing mainly the Mille Îles River and its tributaries, with the support of and on behalf of the local community.
A sweet spot to rent a kayak/canoe for a nice paddle on the calm Riviere des Milles Iles.
The Park’s territory also includes municipal grounds and multiple private properties, united in part because of Éco-Nature’s grassroots sensitization work and the association of individual landowners sympathetic to environmental conservation issues. Indeed, the Park boasts of a rich and unique biodiversity, which its official “Wildlife Reserve” status homologates. Its territory, formally declared a protected area in 1998, includes ten islands covering 26,2 hectares hectares of private land belonging to the cities of Laval and Rosemère as well as to Éco-Nature.
