The nearest Peet's Coffee shop - just a 10 minute walk up to the Rockridge neighborhood which includes a large Safeway, cute shops, bakeries, bagels (see guidebook). Outdoor tables in the shade. For those that don't know it they are famous for their STRONG and dark roast coffees.

The first, and original Peet's coffee. If you're familiar with this coffee chain, this is where the founders got started. There's a wall of articles and antique brewing instruments displayed championing its history in artisanal coffee.
