The lavender capital of WA state, Sequim is in what we call a rain shadow. If it's rainy in Seattle you stand a good chance of finding sun here. It's a great stop for food and all things lavender while making your way around the Olympic Peninsula.

Sequim (one syllable; pronounced "skwim", sounds like swim), Known as the "Lavender Capital of North America" with over 30 lavender farms! It hosts a world renowned annual Lavender Festival the 3rd week in July. Sequim is a great place to call home while you explore the Olympic National Park with spectacular rain forests, mountains, waterfalls and beaches. If you like shopping, Sequim has some unique boutique shops in the 6-block downtown area on Washington St. Check out the Sequim Museum & Arts if you want to know more about how the town of Sequim evolved, and the history of the founding prairie families.

Sequim is great for some local fresh farm food, lavender essentials, and some great coastal hikes. Don't miss Dungeness Lighthouse or Port Williams.

Sequim is home to endless lavender farms. Smaller, bigger and everything inbetween. Like being in Provence, France. Small town farming charm. Must do and see.
