Step aboard our classic white eco friendly sailing boat. No noise, no nasty diesel fumes. Our skipper will help make your trip memorable aboard the vessel that has proudly entertained visitors to the region since 1982. After a safety briefing we leave the marina at the beginning of the mighty Waikato River and work our way along the bays of Lake Taupo with an informative and interesting short history of the area, it’s volcanic nature and cultural history. Either sit back and relax on our comfortable seating or have a turn at the wheel. Refreshments like tea coffee or milo ( a kiwi favourite) are available on the trip. Grab a drink and get to know the people around you. As we sail you will enjoy the majestic view of our volcanic mountains, Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe and Tongariro. In the Winter they are snowcapped like ice cream cones. Sail Barbary takes you right up close to the face of Ngatoroirangi, for the perfect photo of the 14-metre high rock art, only accessible by water. The skipper will tell you the story of its carving. In the summer we stop for swimming. We are a truly unique and authentic experience. the only sustainable sailing company on the lake.
Ride with a Local - Auckland eBike tour
Learn about life for the locals in Auckland - all from the comfort of an electric bike. Escape the tourist trail and zip around the city’s beautiful waterfront and it's cool central neighborhoods on this 2.5 hour electric bike guided tour. Find out where the locals go to socialize and to enjoy the beautiful natural environment in and around our city. Starting from the Park Hyatt Auckland (see the Notes and Meeting Location on where to find us), we'll ride up a nearby cycleway to check out Karangahape Road (known as "K Road" by the locals) - learning about its edgy past and promising future. Then it's on to Ponsonby - one of the best places to eat, drink and shop in Auckland. We'll check out some other local neighbourhoods too, before heading back down to sea level, to cruise along the waterfront and check out the delights of Wynyard Quarter and the Viaduct. And at the end of the tour, I'll give you a list of my favourite cafes, restaurants and bars around the central city - many of which we'll have cycled past! Plenty of options for you to try out during the rest of your stay in this amazing city. PLEASE NOTE - if you can't find availability for this tour on the date you are looking for, we recommend you check out our other Auckland eBike tour with Airbnb Experiences: "Sky to Sea" - https://abnb.me/NyUmFWofuX?s=51 Other things to note: Minimum height is 5 foot (152cm).

The Great Auckland Craft Beer Hunt
•Taste real fresh NZ craft beer with seasoned pros •Start at craft beer freehouse with a paddle of cold local brews •Take a harborside and city scenic walking tour between pubs •Taste the beer in Auckland’s oldest brewpub •Drink more beer and eat tasty food in lively central pub On this experience you will get to taste real New Zealand craft beer, lovingly brewed by our microbreweries. Many bars and pubs in Auckland city centre sell what they call craft beer. These are often beers made by one of our duopoly owners of the alcohol industry here in New Zealand. So actually the 'craft beer' is made by an overseas multinational company. So, all the craft beer we taste on our experience is made by locally owned small microbreweries who are dotted up and down the country. Because we are tiny we have easy access to beer brewed outside of Auckland. There are still only a handful of places in the city centre that showcase the craft brewers work, but good news is, we'll take you there! A few years ago we saw this as an opportunity and the Great Auckland Craft Beer Hunt was born. We combine drinking amazing local beer with a small tiki tour of the city in between bars. Our guides are all about the beer, good conversation and catching you up on all things New Zealand. Also happy to help with journey planning over the beers if you are just starting out your adventure in NZ.

If time allows they can try knitting or weaving and have a short walk around the farm to meet the other animals. This experience is suitable for beginners with no previous experience needed. Children can attend, just advise the age of the child, as I'll organise a child friendly wool activity for them. I'd like to make sure you have a fun, relaxing & unique experience that you will always remember. The scenery is spectacular and I am happy to take photos of you around the farm and with the animals. So it’s a great option for riders who are looking for an Easy Ride! We’ll show you the best of Auckland’s waterfront. The area around our meeting point at the Park Hyatt Auckland in Wynyard Quarter is the perfect place to start our ride: nice and flat and plenty of space to do your test ride and get used to your electric bike. From there, we’ll ride along the buzzy Wynyard Quarter waterfront and learn about New Zealand’s success in the America’s Cup as we cruise through the Viaduct. Then it’s on to Tamaki Drive, a favourite destination for locals and for visitors – lots of lovely beaches and plenty of great cafes on Tamaki Drive. And to top it off, at the end of the tour, we'll give you a list of our favourite cafes, restaurants and bars around the central city - many of which you'll have cycled past! Auckland's Bush, Beach and Bites
From our meeting point we’ll make our way across the bridge, soaking up stunning views of our harbour, city and volcanoe as we go. We will arrive at a small yet enchanting slice of native bush that even many locals don’t even know about. It's an elevated bush walk that provides a unique forest scape. Great for the insta! If we're lucky we'll start to hear and then see Tui in full voice and flight. These guys are singers and mimickers and they have quite a story! I’ll point out native trees, New Zealand bush medicine and wildlife that you may not have seen before. It's stunning natural beauty, and quite peaceful too. After our bush walk we'll head to a beautiful beach and lovely waterside trail. I'll point out all the local landmarks and natural beauty including our imposing Rangitoto Volcano, our youngest at just 600 years old. It's an intriguing coastal trail, we'll pass over old lava flows, rock pools and even a castle would you believe! Finally we'll reach lovely Takapuna beach where this time of year it's an awesome spot for a swim to cool off. We'll finish with a classic Kiwi fish and chips lunch and a beer on the beach. We will then head back to the city! Please feel free to tip your guide. We will not be offended!
