Rubha nan Gall Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage

A former Lighthouse Keeper's Cottage in a spectacular remote location on the Isle of Mull. Built by the Stevensons in 1857, Rubha nan Gall Keeper's Cottage has been completely renovated and now offers a comfortable home for up to 6 guests from which to enjoy the tranquil surroundings and abundant wildlife. Access is via a coastal footpath, a 25 min walk from Tobermory and there is NO vehicle access. The cottage is off-grid, but solar panels, a spring and WiFi mean you probably won’t notice.

Stay at the at the most northerly point of the Scottish mainland in a traditional Lighthouse Keepers Cottage. Enjoy panoramic views north across the Pentland Firth to Orkney, the Old Man of Hoy, and west to the hills of Cape Wrath. There are moorland walks direct from the cottage, while puffins, razorbills and guillemots nest on the stunning cliffs below the lighthouse. Seals are often heard on the rocks below. Look out too for passing whales as well as the many ships that ply the Firth.

Living in a Lighthouse

A magical converted 18th-century lighthouse located on the edge of the picturesque village of Winterton-on-Sea, Norfolk. A building with a rich history, mentioned in Defoe's Robinson Crusoe and used as a lookout tower during World War II. The original tower has now been extended at ground level, with a simple glass and timber structure, which opens onto a cedar deck and garden. The property has been widely featured in interiors magazines and national newspapers.

There is fully equipped second shared kitchen in the main guest house you can also use but please make sure you clean after using. Children are permitted , however the house is not equipped for children therefore no responsibility can be held . There is free parking in the front of the property on private driveway but must be confirmed prior booking.

Aberdeen Lighthouse Cottages, only 10 minutes from the city centre, are the perfect place to relax next to the sea. This coast is one of the best places in Europe to see dolphins. Cottage 4 has 2 bedrooms (sleeps 4) and is a conversion of the original 19th century machinery room. With a professional interior design, it is very comfortable with a 4* Visit Scotland grading. Guests can bring one dog. CHILDREN ARE WELCOME.

Foghorn cottage is only minutes from the capital Douglas and all amenities, but feels so remote and wonderfully free. Please note, the cottage is only accessible by foot via the footpath across the beach or from the top of Douglas head. 200 steps one way.
