Safety/Cleanliness: we want our guests to be 100% safe, we want to reassure you with the following information:
- We are following Airbnb's Cleaning Protocol (one day minimum between bookings, disinfecting high touch areas, our cleaning crew wears PPE including masks and gloves to maintain our always exceptional clean apartment...see our reviews).
- Entire space. Your space is a legal ADU. This means there is no connection to the main home's heating/cooling, ventilation, or other utilities. This is not a shared space below our main home.
- Self Check-In - guests receive a unique access pin prior to their stay, which prevents the need for any contact.

Details about the space:
The lower apartment is fresh, clean, modern, new construction with lots of light. We welcome you as our guest(s). Enjoy a fresh cup of local coffee while sitting by the fireplace.

APARTMENT: roughly 700 square feet legal Alternative Dwelling Unit (ADU) in the lower level (basement) of our 1911 Bungalow home. Spacious for solo travelers or couples, and can also accommodate up to 4 guests. The apartment is located under our living space, but is totally private. The apartment has sound mitigation, and includes its own entrance, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, and living area. Brand new concrete floors throughout, with insulation underneath.

BEDROOM: new queen bed, next to full bath, fresh sheets, blankets, luggage rack, dresser, night stands, and wall heater.

BATHROOM: shower and bathtub, shampoo, soap, lotion, hair dryer, towels, and more.

KITCHEN: full sink, full electric range, range hood, fridge, microwave, basic cookware, glasses/dishes/silverware, and a coffee machine. Everything is new. Perfect for long or short stays.

LIVING AREA: leather Pottery Barn sleeper sofa, television, natural gas and thermostat-controlled fireplace, wifi, Chromecast (allowing you to stream from your Netflix and other Chromecast enabled accounts). The sleeper sofa folds out to a queen sized bed.

SOUND: Our family of 3 lives in the unit above and though well insulated, some noise is audible between floors (not voices or music, but footsteps). We do our best to keep quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 8:30 AM. We also provide a white noise machine that isn't necessary for most guests, but is available. We’re spending more time at home during COVID-19, so there may be more footsteps than normal, but for most guests it is doesn't impact their stay.

LAUNDRY: your own washer/dryer combo machine is located under the kitchen counter.

PARKING: free street parking with no hourly limit. This is a big advantage versus staying downtown where there is a nightly parking fee. Generally there is ample parking supply just outside the apt.

STAIRS: minimal stairs...just 7 total - 3 up at the front of the house, then 4 down to the apt.

HEATING/COOLING: we have an on demand gas fireplace that is controlled by a thermostat remote. We also have two high efficiency wall heaters. We don’t have A/C, but the apartment stays comfortable even when it’s over 100 degrees outside - which is rare.

You will be a short walk to eclectic shops, coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants, bars, and parks...all virtually out your front door. Many are beginning to reopen, and most have pick-up or delivery options available.

- Mt. Tabor Park - ~10 minute walk. Beautiful, urban forest park on a dormant volcano, with great views of the Portland skyline. It is a runner/walker's paradise.

- Many food options including: Por Que No?, Apizza Scholls, Tabor Bread, Saphire Hotel, and more within a 5 minute walk. Three of Portland's top 5 restaurants in the city are within a 5 minute drive (Coquine #1, Castagna #3, Nodoguro #4 ranked by The Oregonian).
- Several great coffee shops are just around the corner including: Albina Press, and Common Grounds.
- Powell's Books in a short walk down Hawthorne.

I live in Portland, OR and absolutely love it here! I work in the Financial Services industry for a local credit union. I also run a food blog here in town, which is a ton of fun! I have been fortunate to travel to many countries. I love being an Airbnb host because I get to share my city with so many guests. My favorite things to do are travel, bake in my brick oven, cycle, play soccer, spend time with my friends and family, and work on my house. I am a long time Portlander, who has lived here since 2001. I know a lot about the city and look forward to sharing information with future guests.
