Bandon Oregon has cheese in its DNA, and has been home to cheese making since the 1800’s. During the 1880’s there were 10 large cheese makers in the area, and many more small Farmstead producers. In 1914, the first of two major Bandon, Oregon fires burned down much of the town’s architecture. Loving Bandon, many people stayed and rebuilt the town, cheese making also continued as a large and expected aspect of the community. Cheese making in Bandon has extensively followed the hand-made artisan style of cheese making.

A beach comber's delight for beautiful windy walks and to catch a colorful sunset. Where large powerful waves crash exposing abundant and colorful agates that line the steep beach. On a clear day, you can see Cape Blanco to the north.
Use extreme caution near the waves here.

The sand labyrinths of the southern Oregon coast are coming marking another year of the spectacular public art project.
Circles in the Sand is a project started by artist and religious practitioner Denny Dyke, who along with a team of volunteers, creates labyrinths – which he calls "dreamfields" – on beaches at low tide.
The team will creates labyrinths over the spring and summer in all of them at Face Rock State Scenic Viewpoint in Bandon. Once complete, each labyrinth will open to the public to walk until the tide comes in and washes it away.
