Gold Coast Coffee and Bakery in Duncans Mills is just a few miles from the cottage. They roast their own coffee on site and make really delicious pastries and pizza.

Duncans Mills has many shops to visit in an Old world style, village like setting. Art gallery, book store, tea shop, restaurant, wine, souvenir shop, plant shop and a small general store and a candy shop are just some of the offerings.

The Rio Nido Roadhouse offers live music, a seasonal pool, food and drink in an outdoor setting.

Monte Rio Public Beach is free and offers a boat ramp, kayak and tube rentals and food, drink and snack shack on the beach. The food shack and rentals are seasonal.

Cazadero General store is a small local grocery store a few miles from the cottage that has a small selection of groceries, drinks and a great deli.

Armstrong Redwoods offers some beautiful hiking spots and is usually open year round.
