At the end of Piedmont Ave is our beloved Mountain View Cemetery, “Churchyard, Graveyard, Park & Garden”, designed by Frederick Olmstead who also designed Central Park in NYC. Wander the winding little roads to the top for a truly breathtaking view of Oakland at your feet and, on a clear day, SF and her bridges in the distance. Many famous local folks rest here :-)

While you can use public transit to go almost anywhere from our convenient “launch pad”, should you have a car and the time, these destinations are world-class!
In my paper Guest Guidebook in the accommodation is a detailed, self-guided walking tour of San Francisco with the appropriate BART stop. There is a separate “driving tour” which includes places harder to access by public transit.
Or, treat yourself to a Ferry across the Bay from our busy Port and waterfront promenade. The Ferry drops you in easy and delightful walking distance from famous Fisherman’s Wharf. You can take the quick BART trip home at end of your day by hopping a cable car to the Union Square station. Local tip: avoid the lines by walking up Hyde from Beach Street at Ghirardelli Square to the famous Lombard Street. Tourists jump off to take photos, so you can hop on :-)
