This museum houses one of the biggest collections of locomotives and rail cars in the world! We have had guests come from this far away is Germany, the Netherlands and Australia specifically to visit this museum. It’s located in old Sacramento which is also a very fun location for vacationers to check out with it large assortment of restaurants, museums and shops. You could easily spend a day visiting museums, walking the river district and dining in old Sacramento. it’s a great local day trip and it’s only 30 minutes or so from our home.

We have had guests come from this far away is Germany, the Netherlands and Australia specifically to visit this museum. It’s located in old Sacramento which is also a very fun location for vacationers to check out with it large assortment of restaurants, museums and shops. You could easily spend a day visiting museums, walking the river district and dining in old Sacramento. it’s a great local day trip and it’s only 30 minutes or so from our home.

Mather Lake

Want to have some fun in our neighborhood? Mather Lake It’s a fun recreation area that is only steps away from our door. It’s a great place to bike ride, Picnic, go fishing or just relax on a park bench and feed the ducks. We often go to May through Lake and take my niece is a nephews so they can enjoy the play ground.

Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe is another day trip that we enjoy. In Southlake Tahoe there are tons of trails, campgrounds, restaurants and activities by the lake such as boating. There is also a great night life seen with all the casinos at the state line. It’s definitely worth checking out and it’s about an hour to an hour and a half drive from our home.

California Capital Airshow

The May through airshow is an annual event that attracts people from around the world. There are many military aircraft such as the blue angels that perform during this event. It’s generally held over a weekend and there are exhibitions, exhibits, food vendors and merchandise. It’s a very fun event and we generally can watch the airshow sitting on lawn chairs right at our driveway. However, tickets are suggested so you can be right in the middle of the action! Our home generally books well in advance of the air show because we are so close to the event. Make sure to reserve your room early!
