Steeped in history, Berlin has been voted "Coolest Small Town in America" multiple times! Berlin's city website boasts that we are "Artistically Alive and Eternally Young", and the activity here throughout the year proves it.
We have hosted the filming of "Tuck Everlasting" and "Runaway Bride", and hold a Runaway Bride event yearly. There are a myriad of musical and theatrical events, including the weekend long Fiddler's Convention, Shakespeare in Berlin, Reggae Play Day, Small Town Country Music Throw Down and the Jazz & Blues, Wine & Brews event, not to mention many local smaller concerts and venues like The Globe and The Taylor House.
If you are looking for local libation, the Burley Oak is a homegrown local brewery. Sinepuxent Brewing Company is just outside of town and Sisters Wine bar is right downtown.
If shopping and antiquing are more your thing, you'll find that there are tons of unique shops lining the streets downtown. If you get hungry, there are a multitude of locally owned restaurants of every kind, and our very own locally made Island Creamery where the ice cream is to die for! Once your shopping bags and belly are full, be sure to take a Berlin Ghost Walk and learn all about the spookier side of town.
There are plenty of recreational activities as well just a short distance away. Assateague Island National Park is a short drive and an excellent opportunity to see the world famous Assateague wild ponies. Just outside of town is Ayers Creek Adventures kayaking tours and rentals. And of course only 12 miles to Ocean City and an abundance of fishing charters.
Berlin and its surrounding communities offer everything from Mermaid Museums to Casino Downs gambling. If you haven't been here to visit, then you're missing out on one of America's Coolest Small Towns!
