Blue Dot is a local coffee shop, walking distance from your stay. Alameda has small pocket business districts that were stops along the old train and trolley car stops. Blue Dot is part of the Chestnut area, and on the same block you will see a neighborhood grocery store, Marti's restaurant, flower shop, and salons. Blue Dot is open Tuesday-Saturday.

Head to the city via the ferry. It takes 22 minutes from Alameda to get to San Francisco ferry building. You will experience incredible views of Oakland, Alameda and SF. Also get to see the "Dino's" at the Port of Oakland. It rumored that the Dino's are what inspired the Imperial Walkers in Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back.
The ferry building has done of amazing places to eat like hog island oysters and many more. Some days they also have a farmers market.
