This is where all the cool kids hang out these days sipping cocktails and enjoying the river and castle views. They have great pizza and a wide selection of drinks. Next door is a huge food court where you can get many different types of food.

This is a food truck court about a 5 minute walk from the apartment. I recommend cafe Bagieri, Miski which has delicious poke bowls and the Mexican food truck (don’t remember the name).

This is a very cool musum of the rynek (main market square). You can really get a sense of the history of this market town and see all of the previous layers of the city. This is one you need to book at least a few days in advance as it is a popular place to visit.

We recommend the Wawel Cathedral. The audio guide is very well done and is absolutely worth it! Here you can see the tombs of the most famous Polish kings and important people.

Going away from old town you can find a huge forest with a tree lined boulevard heading to a huge mound used as a city fortification. From the top you can get a view of the entire city and on good weather days even see the Tatra mountains.

This is a former ‘Nazi castle’ built as a retreat for occupying officers in 1943. Today it is a hotel and restaurant/cafe and has an amazing terrace and if you are up for a 45 min walk you can get there through the forest (Las Wolski). The restaurant is great and the views are even better.
