Explore Berlin craft beer culture
Hey everyone, the tour is back with a few new beers, one new venue, and a whole lot of passion to share! You'll meet up outside of a nearby subway station in the East Berlin neighborhood of Prenzlauer Berg and get to know each other before heading to a popular craft brewery nestled inside of one of Berlin's most historic breweries from 1893. You'll have the chance to inspect some brewing kettles and understand the brewing process while learning the basics of beer tasting and beer history, including the German Beer Purity Law. All while drinking a Berlin-style Hefeweizen! Then you will have the chance to get a "wegbier" while you explore the site of, arguably, Old Berlin's most influential brewery. Next, you'll stop at Berlin's only burlesque craft beer bar for a flight of local brews before finally stopping at our favorite craft beer bar in the neighborhood, right next to Berlin's famous Mauerpark. Both guides have been involved in the Berlin craft beer scene for the last 4 years and come with a wealth of insight! So, don't be afraid to ask questions! Other things to note: There are one set of stairs where wheelchair access is difficult, but doable. Spanish tours are offered, but please send a private message.
Battle of Berlin & Cold War Walking Tour
The tour concentrates on the devastating Battle of Berlin which occurred in April/May 1945. The battle was very much the dramatic conclusion of the entire Second World War in Europe, but also played a huge part in the post-war situation of Berlin, including its division into East and West. The tour takes you through central Berlin - known as 'Z Sector' during the battle - where we will see many of the major sites and learn what they experienced during the battle, the war in general and the aftermath. Additionally, I will show how the city recovered, changed and became the city that would epitomise the Cold War. The tour largely concentrates on the years from 1939 until the building of the Wall in 1961. During the tour you will see: Brandenburg Gate The Reichstag The Holocaust Memorial Luftwaffe HQ Wilhelmstrasse - the center of the Nazi regime SS Headquarters The Fuhrerbunker Gendarmenmarkt East German diplomatic quarter The Berlin Wall The entire tour will be punctuated with photos taken of Berlin across the period, allowing you to see how the city was devastated, but also how it recovered. English Comedy Show on a boat
So, here's the plan: You get to become part of one of the biggest and most fun stand comedy shows in English in Berlin! And it's all on a boat! It's a fun, vibrant, energetic and friendly show - EVERY Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. We'll have pre-show drinks and then enjoy a great line up of Open Mic comics doing 5-7 minutes of material and an awesome headliner to top it all off. After that we'll have some relaxed drinks at the bar where we mingle and you get to know the comics and the other people joining the experience in a more private setting. So, ask all those questions you've had but never dared to ask about comedy. Other things to note You can smoke on deck, but not in the bar. The bar is cash-only, so they don't accept cards. And they only serve snacks, but there's plenty of restaurants and bistros nearby. If you ever find one of the experiences as fully booked, consider joining us the night before or after. We also run other shows - in fact, we have a show every night of the week - you can find the others (not on the boat), here: https://www.airbnb.co.uk/experiences/1002772
East Berlin - a deeper dive
You’ve seen most of the major sights in Berlin, right? I’ll take you further east to explore parts of Berlin most tours don’t take you. There’s a lot of depth to Berlin, and endless corners to explore. On this 4.5- 5 hour tour, we’ll head east down the main boulevard of Karl-Marx-Allee, stopping at notable sights and to admire the communist-era architecture. We’ll stop by the headquarters of the Stasi, one of the most feared and effective secret police forces in history, before heading further east to explore the sprawl of plattenbau, the prefabricated housing estates beloved by the GDR government, in either Lichtenberg or Marzahn. We’ll head further east and climb up a hill for a view over east Berlin, before looping around and taking in other notable sights of East Berlin on the way back to the centre. I’ll tailor the tour to suit you - we can skip some things and include extra things. We’ll cover a lot of ground, both on foot and on the U-bahn - so wear comfortable shoes. I’ll give you tips for the rest of your stay in Berlin and will help you get to other places of interest. Basically, we’ll stop for the day when you’ve had enough!

There will be no Currywurst or Döner on this tour but delicious food with plenty of cultural references to feed your mind. Other things to note -Please contact us in advance if you have dietary restrictions or preferences. We can adjust the tour accordingly. -Due to availability at the places and due to seasons we might have to change our stops. but we have very tasty alternatives.
