Even though Venice Beach is a walk away, we love venturing to El Porto for a long day in the sun. There's metered parking and it's a popular surfing spot. It can be cleaner and a bit less hectic than Venice or Santa Monica beaches.

It can also get crazy crowded in this part of Santa Monica, but a visit here makes for a fun outing with tons of photo ops!
