From Dorothy’s why not take the ferry to the other side of the lake Take a lovely walk to Wray castle enjoy the coffee and cakes. If you are feeling energetic walk on to Ambleside catch the bus back to Bowness pier. One of our many favourite walks any time of the year.

Wainwright had his saulian moment and devoted his life to the hills

I was brought up in the last cottage before the view point. The scenery from the top is beautiful . Wainwright fell in love with it too.
