Sea Foraging San Luis Obispo County
LIMITED TOURS, BOOK EARLY... CURRENTLY WE ARE IN LONELY PLANET TOP 6 FORAGING DESTINATIONS IN THE US, and featured in the LA Times, SF Gate, Sunset, and Eating Well. All along the pristine coast of Central California, many species of delicious edible seaweeds exist. Kelp is some of the most tasty and nutritious of wild superfoods! I will meet participants and take them to seldom visited local spots and teach them basic phycology (marine algae science) and sustainable harvesting techniques. Not only will participants partake in a unique experience surrounded by breathtaking scenery, but they will leave with the knowledge of how to sustainably harvest nutritious seaweed for themselves for years to come. We make an amazing seaweed Ramen in the traditional Japanese form at the end. Other things to note I WILL SEND YOU EXACT LOCATION AFTER BOOKING > We will be harvesting edible seaweed. Unlike land foraging, there are no toxic seaweeds to worry about. We will show you how to tide pool with minimal impact upon the marine environment. If you book a private tour, please list the actual number of people that will be attending. Thank you!
Learn to surf in Pismo Beach
****Meetup time is 15 minutes PRIOR to experience start time!!! (8:30 group meets at 8:15 and the 10:30 group meets at 10:15)**** Learning to surf is one of the most fun experiences you could ever be a part of. Its challenge and personal reward and individual achievement by just getting out there is just amazing. And it's pretty much the coolest sport in the world. I'll take you and your group (if you have one) out to the local beaches and teach you the safety and fundamentals of surfing. This is an activity that is a strenuous exercise, so you should have a pretty good level of fitness before we go out, but the reward when you do get your first "a-ha" moment is amazing. Try it. You'll be glad you did. And you'll probably be surprised at how well you do on your first time surfing. Other things to note All you need to bring is a swimsuit, sunscreen, a bottle of water and big smile!
Happy Hour History Tour of Paso Robles
Sunny Paso Robles has distinguished itself as a top-shelf wine destination but did you know we have a pretty amazing history? Spend happy hour with us learning about how this town got started from the first prime minister of Poland to John Wayne. We will start off in the heart of our beautiful tree studded park. From there we will dart down the alley ways and victorian lanes of the past. Along the way you will hear what it means to be a Paso Roblan and what the future may hold. Other things to note Always check the weather, Paso is pretty temperate but make sure you dress accordingly. If you do not drink alcohol a none-alcoholic drink will be provided at the end of the tour :)
Goats & Alpaca-From Pasture to Product

Then it's into the pastures to meet and feed treats to our people-friendly Nubian goats, alpacas, heritage-breed turkeys, and trained mini pigs. After the farm tour, guests will observe a goat-milk soap making demonstration. Then we'll wet felt our soap with our alpaca fiber and Merino sheep wool, and then needle felt the soap to personalize it. Other things to note Please wear farm-appropriate attire. Closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty are a must! Sunscreen is recommended. Note: Since this experience is held entirely outdoors, it is subject to cancellation during winter months due to inclement weather.

Spin a pot on the pottery wheel
This pottery experience offer 2 options! 1.Our first option is the opportunity to throw on the pottery wheel! Each guest will make two pieces. A cup, bowl or vase. It takes clay a week to dry and go through the first fire , then glaze and fire again. If your stay is short we can glaze your pieces in the colors you choose and ship them to you with an extra fee! 2.The second option is glazing something premade. We have various items to choose from. The pottery studio is located in San Luis Obispo where we teach classes and offer workshops in sculpting , hand building and paint parties . I have an Airbnb apartment in SLO I rent out monthly , this could work well for an artist in residence for someone who wants to really learn more techniques in clay.
Paso Robles Wine Tour in a Classic Jeep
My experience begins and ends at the Paso Robles Train Station or other local arrangements can be made. We pickup between 10:15 and 11 am and the tour ends at 4pm. Our six passenger jeeps insure an intimate experience for groups of 2 – 6 people. Reservations are often required by many wineries but itineraries are as spontaneous as possible. We primarily visit smaller production wineries. Three (3) winery stops are included with this tour. Miscellaneous stops can be considered and included such as olive oil tastings or visit to Tin City in Paso Robles. Using my Jeep, we have access to private vineyards and are able to offer our more adventurous guests a chance to go off the grid onto “dirt” where some of the areas greatest beauty and wildlife can be seen. For those who favor the flavor of beer, we can substitute a winery stop for one of the several breweries in the area but only with general consensus of all guests in the Jeep. Return home is generally between 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Other things to note: We travel in classic 6 passenger open air Jeeps which is enclosed for inclement weather. Tasting Fees are discounted at 50% at any of our 20+ wine partners.
Hike to Breathtaking Views Over Cayucos
We will start at the bottom of the hill, before entering private property. The land owner is VERY friendly and loves sharing his property with people that can enjoy and respect his land. I will guide you on the hike while talking about my knowledge of the area. The views from the top are the best aerial view of the town. I can also be your personal photographer and carry your water and snack. I will carry a backpack and bring some extra drinking water. I also carry a limited amount of security and first aid supplies, just in case. PLEASE MESSAGE ME IF IT SAYS THE DATE IS UNAVAILABLE. I MAY BE ABLE TO CORRECT THE CALENDAR. I often bring my 5 year old son who can hike this hill faster than most of us. He is very well behaved and won’t slow us down. (Most of my reviews are actually about him.) Other things to note: Remember that we will be in the wilderness. Wear comfortable hiking shoes and I usually wear long pants. Please check the weather forecast before booking. Sometimes it’s windy, sometimes it’s foggy but still a good hike. Hike is rain dependent and I will refund for rain if requested (not wind or fog) although I am happy to hike in the rain as well. While this technically private property, it's known to locals so there's always a chance we may see 1 or 2 other people up there.

Creating sandcastles that are fun for young and old alike
During our time together, you will be given an assortment of sand tools that you will get to take home, and also get to use specialty tools that you can go online to acquire, if you desire. You will be shown how to work with the sand, how to use each of the tools, and many tips that will make your castles stand out. Everyone who participates enjoys learning how simple it is to build sandcastles, and has a lot of fun sharing with family and friends. After the instruction, we will have time to practice the techniques shown, and you will have time to ask all the questions you may have.
Hiking the trails of SLO
Available on FB @HikeSLO805, DM there! I like to personalize hikes to everyone's specific needs (easy or hard trails - near the beach/oceanview, seeing the green hills-seasonal, waterfall/creekside, etc). From there, we set aside 1.5-2 hours and just hike and enjoy the scenery. I carry water, snacks, and any other necessities, and also double as a photographer. Sometimes we do quizzes on flowers/animals/insects seen (fun for kids). I also have nature books for local flowers, birds and the history of the area. We enjoy the views from the top for as long as you like, (we can eat, drink, take photos) before heading down the hill. I can also provide a copy of the trail map that we complete or send ideas for other local hikes (pls. ask ahead of time). The whole event is curated to your skills, wants and needs, so if someone likes flowers, we could focus on that aspect of the hike as well. *Since this is an outdoor activity, some trails might not be available due to extreme weather and/or changing conditions ** Please consider booking the private option when you reserve your hike, to ensure you and your group have a nice, private experience ***If the time/date isn't available, please message me so I can open the timeslot Please visit us on Facebook or IG for more information about bookings: HIKE SLO 805 or @hikeslo805
The Art of The Horse
The Art of The Horse is an experience of a lifetime! You will begin your experience with a tour of our farm where you will meet our Iberian horses, hear their stories and interact with them. After we complete the tour, the real fun begins! Your group will then begin to express their artistic talents as you create a masterpiece painting using a real horse as your canvas! Once complete, we will help you fill your cameras with photos of your completed masterpiece. If time allows, participants can choose to wash their canvas aka the horse! If you would like a different time than the one listed, please feel free to reach out to us! Please note we put the comfort, care and welfare of our horses above all else. If we feel the horse requires a break we will pause or stop the activity to allow for the horse to take a break. If a break is required we will extend your experience time to accommodate at no charge. We use hypoallergenic tempura paint, provide aprons, gloves (if desired) to help keep you clean and safe. Snacks and water are provided.
