Kayak the Mangroves on Lido Key
You will meet your guides at Ted Sperling Park, the launch site for the famous Lido Mangrove Tunnels. After a short explanation of the equipment and the paddle, we will launch and practice our skills in a beautiful, shallow bay. Depending on weather conditions, we may paddle to the channel with a goal of paddling with manatees and dolphins. If we do come across them, we will keep our distance and watch them play and frolic. Occasionally, manatees will be curious and will swim up to us. It is such a special experience. Next up, we will head to the mangrove tunnels. We may take a short break at a private beach to stretch our legs before we head into the maze of mangrove tunnels. Your guides will help you navigate the tunnels, pointing out exotic wildlife as you pass. Everyone loves when finding giant hermit crabs and seastars along the way. After paddling though the tunnels and to the hidden lagoon, we will head back to the launch. Your hosts will text photos of your adventure for you to share with friends and family. Other things to note Kids welcome from age 3 and up. Kayaks and paddleboards can be combined on the same tour. If you need a different date, contact us at info@surfitusa.com or call 941-952-8245. We share a bit about the area then continue on, making our way all the way to the Northern-most point of the Key, Sunset Point. There is a local gentleman that puts on a flag lowering ceremony complete with Taps on the bugle each night as the sun sets, we stick around to observe this then ride the entire length of the beach back to our starting point. We take plenty of photos throughout and send them at the end so you are sure to have plenty of mementos to remember our adventure! Bring the whole family to a fun class
When you register for a glass class we start your experience by showing you around the studio and explaining what is available to the students. We put you at ease by demonstrating the process of making your glass project, answering questions, and making suggestions as to form and design. When finished the projects are brought to the kilns where we fire them at 1425 degrees. Projects are either picked up by the student or the student has the option of shipping their art. We do encourage taking the class at the beginning of the vacation so that the glass can be carried home and not shipped.

Sailing aboard a Private Yacht
Upon boarding our 36ft Sailing Yacht Calypos, or our 41ft ketch rigged Sea Dancer, you will instantly slip into island time. Enjoy a refreshing beverage as we slip from the constraints of the dock and everyday stress. Soon after leaving the Yacht club, the sails will be unfurled and you will soon be gliding with the wind. Be on the look out for marine life such as dolphins and manatees. Work the lines to help harness the wind, take the helm to steer, or just sit back and relax. Our captain can help you understand the sea fairing art of sailing across the seas, while also entertaining you with the deep history of the area. After time slips away while sightseeing, indulge in some tasty snacks or hors d'oeuvres (depending on charter booked). Top off your sunset or day sail with a sundowner cocktail, glass of wine or champagne, as we slowly bring you back to the dock. Other things to note: Departure location may change due to tide levels. We recommend that you wear comfortable clothes appropriate for the weather. As often Florida’s weather can change, it may be a good idea to bring a light coat. Drinks and snacks are included, however if you prefer a certain item, feel free to bring it onboard. No Alcohol is allowed to be brought onboard our public sail. If you book our private option then you may bring what you like. No Red Wine please.

Painting on the Beach
Meet me on the beach and enjoy the one of the best views in the world! We will jump right into having a fun painting experience and absolutely no experience is required! Keffie will teach aprox 1.5 hour step by step Sarasota Beachy inspired painting. You will have your completed painting to take home at the end of your class. We will paint on canvas boards 12" x 16" so that they will easily fit in your suitcase to fly or drive home. Everyone will create the "same" subject matter with their own twist. This allows Keffie to keep you on track and make sure you will finish your painting in the time allotted. Keffie will guide you every step of the way and as long as you follow along, you will have a gorgeous painting to take home at the end! We will move at a quick pace so come prepared to be creative from the moment you sit down! If you have a special request for a your subject, please let Keffie know as soon as possible! Past groups have created sunsets, sailboats, flamingos, sea turtles, palm trees and manatees. We are happy to host children in class but please remind them that we will all be painting the same "scene". Children are welcome as long as they are willing and able to follow the lesson plan. Other things to note Please come prepared to be outside and possibly in the sun. The restrooms and the park are ADA compliant. Wear clothes that can get a little paint on them. If the date and time you would like to attend isn't listed, please contact me as I can sometimes accommodate your schedule.
