A visit to the Lifeboat station on Castle hill is a must during your stay. While there you can take a pleasant walk around Albert’s Memorial & pop into the Museum & Art Gallery.

There have been several lifeboat stations at Tenby. The current RNLI Lifeboat Station is open to the public in summer – you can see the lifeboat when it’s not in action, and buy RNLI souvenirs in the shop. The last station, nearby, is now a private house that featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs.

Tenby’s Tamar class all-weather lifeboat is housed inside a modern slipway station situated on the north side of Castle Hill complete with a public gallery where visitors can watch the lifeboat launch. The station’s D class inshore lifeboat is housed at Tenby Harbour.

Larger than the original tin shed, fascinating home of the Lifeboat, if you're really lucky you will hear the maroons, see the volunteers running to the station & see it launch - exhilarating!
