The reserve is home to 150 bird species; 600 plant species; wildlife, including blesbok, zebra and duiker; as well as a rich archaeological site. It boasts the highest concentration of identified Iron Age sites on the Witwatersrand. There are a number of hiking trails.

Nature reserve for hiking trails long or short. With no predatory game, like, zebra and various buck. Free entry. Ask for safety advice before going.

Trails from 2km to 20km well maintained with a variety of game encountered. A short wheelchair friendly trail has just been added. Outdoor gym. Entrance on Peggy Vera Road, Kibler Park with secure parking.
