Downtown Seattle borders Belltown and is where Pike Place market lives. The Pike Place area can be where a lot of homeless people hang out, so i suggest visiting during the day.

Great shops and food downtown, and easily accessed via the Lite Rail from Montlake. Get off at Westlake Center from Lite Rail.
